Our people
Our staff are experts in their field, performing cutting-edge work across a range of technical disciplines
Our people are at the heart of everything we do, providing local knowledge and expertise on a global scale.
We have around 1,200 staff, based:
- in the UK – near Milton Keynes and in London
- overseas – in our regional hubs in Washington, Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, or in other posts
All our staff are security cleared. They provide trusted, agile, global services to UK and other government customers around the world. Our UK-based teams support these activities.
Our diverse team are our most valuable asset and central to the success of our business. They are experts in their field, performing cutting-edge work across a range of technical disciplines.
But that’s not all. Our teams are renowned for going the extra mile and we are immensely proud of them. Often under the radar, their work forms the critical foundation for our customers to deliver their own vital roles and responsibilities.
We believe the best way to support our people is by investing in them, and providing the best and most inclusive working environment we can. Some of the ways we do this are through:
Championing diversity and inclusion
Our aim is to create a truly inclusive business. We are making great strides and you can learn about the progress we’ve made together so far.
Prioritising wellbeing
Employees are happiest and work better when there is a balance between work and home life. We have high standards, but that doesn’t mean we expect an ‘always on’ approach to work.
The wellbeing of our employees is something we take very seriously. Included among the various initiatives are the provision of Mental Health First Aiders, an Employee Assistance Programme and regular wellbeing updates. Our Wellbeing Network is also there to offer support, guidance and advice if it’s needed.
Apprenticeship scheme
Several of our technical experts entered the organisation through our apprenticeship scheme and now help to train our new apprentices.
We run multiple schemes, with eight at degree level which cover a range of areas including Engineering, IT, Logistics, Project Management and Finance.
Our apprenticeship scheme is recognised in the Top 100 apprenticeship employers of 2020.
Progressive learning and development programmes
We want everyone to reach their full potential and have access to the right training and development throughout their career here at FCDO Services.
All employees have access to the Global Learning Opportunities (GLO) platform, mentoring schemes and a redesigned talent management system to identify and develop leadership potential.
Civil Service People Survey
The yearly engagement survey gives employees an opportunity to share their views about their role and the organisation, all designed to help make the organisation an even better place to work.
