We are FCDO Services
2 September 2020
We are changing our name to FCDO Services.
On Wednesday 2 September 2020, our parent organisation, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), merged with the Department for International Development (DFID). The new department is called the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Our new name maintains the historic bond with the FCDO. We’re excited to support the new department as it grows and looks to achieve its ambitions of being a force for good in the world.
Danny Payne, FCDO Services CEO, said:
“With change comes opportunity and we are excited with the creation of the new department FCDO, and the opportunities this presents for us as an organisation. Our close relationship with the Foreign Office will be enhanced, with new areas for expansion into aid and development. Most importantly, we will continue to provide reliable and resilient services to support diplomacy, development and defence for governments around the world.”
FCDO Services
We are a global organisation that provides specialist services to support diplomacy, development and defence for the FCDO and governments around the world.
Our wide range of services include security, digital, logistics and property – from our hosting platform at Secret to managing and fitting out the development of the new Bangkok embassy. We’re also home to the UK National Authority for Counter-Eavesdropping (UK NACE) which helps protect UK assets from physical, electronic and cyber attack.
Our unique history includes decades of technical security work and 800 years of transporting sensitive materials safely as the Queen’s Messengers, a service which continues to this day. From the start, we have always protected the UK’s diplomatic platform, and have always developed our services in response to new threats and technologies. We look forward to continuing our tradition of providing trusted, secure services for governments globally.
